Original Co-founder and TR!BE member; original inspiration for Lyra in Neverwere: A Lycan Love Story by Chris Ross Leong. The Woman of a Thousand Faces, native Nebraskan Jo Anna Heckman (aka Jean “Ziggy” Heathen) was an international champion dancer, choreographer, instructor and official judge for the UNLV Dance Sport Olympics by the time she had reached her twenties, plus a theatrical actor, singer and dancer in many famous musicals and feature films.
When an auto accident stopped that career – she was unable to walk for three years afterwards – Jo Anna turned her interests behind the camera, first in her beloved Choreography, Music composition and performance, and then more towards Production Design, and thus Art Direction, Wardrobe, Makeup and Hair Design, and finally general production, and film Direction, before returning to performing as well in 2016, as her body finally healed enough for her to do so.
Repeated performances in feature films and on TV doing tributes as David Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust have led to Jo Anna’s stage moniker “Ziggy”. Gone far too soon. January 23, 2025.
